Cupe 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement

Yes, yes. If CUPE 4600 is on strike, you must still participate in all courses or research projects in which you participate as a student. It is simply the work you do as a TA or as a contract teacher that you keep. CUASA congratulates CUPE 4600 Unit 2, the contract professor, on its preliminary agreement with the university. The CupE 4600 Unit 2 negotiating team hopes that this powerful strike vote will encourage management to reach a fair agreement at the negotiating table without the need for employment. CUPE 4600 Unit 2 represents contract teachers employed at Carleton University. Strike Committee: This committee handles the logistics of a possible strike, including picket lines, strike wage management, off-site office organization, the hiring of a strike a follower and more. Faced with the unprecedented situation presented by COVID-19, the negotiating teams for CUPE 4600-Unit 2, the union representing contract teachers and the university… Other CUPE 4600s will send detailed fund-specific updates early next week. We have heard from members who have expressed concern that the evaluation of teaching will be done online during the summer semester, contrary to the written option guaranteed by the collective agreement.

Currently, written evaluations are not an option, which is why CUASA is in discussions with the university for a letter of reflection for teaching evaluations under COVID-19. CuASA is still waiting for the university to respond to our counter-offer to the LOU. However, we would like to remind members that while their summer teaching is overloaded with their regular teaching duties, these assessments do not count and can never be included in your retrospective teaching evaluation reports. If your summer classes are part of your normal load, you will be covered by the LOU as soon as it is completed. We hope that this will happen soon, as the courses will soon be open for evaluations in early summer. We are looking for volunteers representing CUASA on the Carleton University Pension Committee (see mandate for the appointment of pension committees) and the Wage Adjustment Commission (see Appendix E of the collective agreement). If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact cuasa@cuasa.ca.

Faced with COVID-19 and the unprecedented challenges it has posed to post-secondary institutions, both in Canada and globally, the University and CUPE Local 4600, Block 2… More February 24, 2020 To all members of the Carleton community, the negotiating teams for the University and CUPE Local 4600, the university`s teachers (unit 1) and the… More We waited patiently to hear about Carleton University, but until today, CUASA has not been consulted by the university on this initiative. We know that APUO and QUFA were given the opportunity from their jurisdictions to provide feedback on the SOPI document, an opportunity Carleton did not consider necessary for CUASA. The fact that we have been informed of its existence by other faculty associations shows that Carleton spoke in camera and deliberately let CUASA out of the discussions that concern our members.
