Jail Housing Agreement

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – In January 2019, the Greene County Detention Center made millions of accommodations for state and federal inmates. Morse says the agreement, presented by the county and approved by the city, accurately reflects current practices and does not impose new financial obligations on the city. City officials say the agreement is good for one year and is automatically renewed each year for a period of four years, unless one of the two parties decides to terminate the contract. This week, the Greene County Detention Center managed to move from a fixed-term contract to a 48-month contract with… RCW 70.48.130 covers several issues related to the medical and health care of those locked up, including compensation. Although the imprisoned person is generally responsible for the payment of his or her medical and health care, RCW 70.48,130 looks at expenses that are incurred in light of the disputed circumstances (e.g. B the question of whether the person is eligible for the health authority`s medical care programs) and the funds by which these institutions can claim reimbursement. One of the scenarios referred to by RCW 70.48.130 concerns the reimbursement of law enforcement, including authorities whose officials have commenced the proceedings against which the person is in prison. RCW 70.48.130 also contains several references to Chapter 74.09 RCW, a means by which suppliers receive a refund in certain circumstances. RCW 39.34.180 and RCW 70.48.090 allow a city or county to enter into contracts with other cities or counties on prison services through inter-local agreements. Prison services may include the provision of law enforcement services, warrants, resources, punishments and detention for offences and serious offences.

RCW 70.48.180 gives counties the specific authority to locate and operate prison facilities at any location designated by the district government authority within the county`s territorial boundaries, including within the city. RCW 70.48.190 grants similar powers to cities and allows cities to establish municipal prison facilities within the territorial boundaries of the county where the city or city is located. Toccoa City director Billy Morse said at a joint meeting last year that city officials agreed that such an agreement should be reached as it did not exist. The Greene County Sheriff`s Office announced that their approval would no longer be time-limited. It is interesting to note that the reference to „law enforcement“ was previously removed from RCW 70.48.130 and that this text was re-entangled due to the expiry on 30 June 2009 of the statute changes that removed the text. AGO 2005 No. 8 interprets a key provision of rcW 70.48.130, as it currently is, with the reference „law enforcement“ included in paragraph 5. According to AGO 2005 8, „subject to reimbursement by those arrested who are financially able to pay for their own medical care, and aside from certain cases where the State is responsible for the costs in question,“ the costs of providing the necessary medical care for those arrested last in the government unit whose officers have arrested , without further agreement.
